FMA OR FILIPINO MARTIAL ARTS (KALI-ARNIS-ESKRIMA)

FMA or Filipino Martial Arts (Kali-Arnis-Escrima) is the national martial art and national sport of the Philippines. It refers to the fighting methods originated in the Philippines which emphasize weapon-based fighting with sticks, knives, bladed weapons, and various improvised weapons, as well as “empty hand or unarmed” techniques using the same principles and training methodology used for weaponry.
The most popular forms of which are known as Kali, Arnis and Eskrima. The three are roughly interchangeable umbrella terms for the traditional martial arts of the Philippines.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Punong Guro Ryan “Bagani” Cordero, a highly decorated Filipino Martial Arts (FMA) instructor based in Oregon, USA, is an experienced and dedicated martial arts instructor with over 30 years of training and 20 years of teaching experience. He has honed his skills in various disciplines, including ITF Taekwon-Do, kickboxing, Pencak Silat and Kali-Arnis-Escrima.
Currently, Guro Bagani holds a 5th degree black belt in ITF Taekwon-Do, an instructor level in kickboxing & silat, and a head instructor/punong guro level in Kali-Arnis-Escrima. His expertise extends beyond these disciplines, as he is also a competitor and coach in various martial arts.
Guro Bagani has showcased his prowess in various martial arts, competing, coaching, and even becoming a champion at the local, national, and international levels. He has excelled in Tang-Soo-Do, submission grappling, kickboxing, pencak silat, mixed martial arts, and Kali/Arnis/Escrima.
Despite his extensive expertise, Guro Bagani’s primary specialty lies in the national martial art of the Philippines, known as Kali, also referred to as Arnis and Escrima.
After learning Filipino Martial Arts (FMA) from Mandirigmang Kaliradman and achieving the instructor level, he established his own FMA group called Bagani Kali Combatives in 2016.
After migrating to the United States, Guro Bagani continued teaching FMA and is currently pursuing his advocacy to promote and disseminate the Filipino Martial Arts worldwide.
