Comic Artist Q and A: Matthew Clark and Monte Wolverton

At NW Hostel Cafe, join a conversation between two cartoonists that are local but famous beyond Portland's borders! The event will run from 5-6 PM. No cover charge. Stop by early to get something to eat and drink.

The event will be moderated by Mark Russell, the Board Chair of Northwest Museum of Comic Arts.

Presenters:
Matthew Clark is a comic book artist from Oregon, USA. Starting his career in 1997 by drawing backgrounds and inking other artists, his break came when he became the regular artist on DC's Wonder Woman. Since then he has worked on numerous projects with some of the industry's best writers.

Monte Wolverton is an editorial cartoonist and illustrator syndicated by Cagle Cartoons for 27 years. A native of Vancouver, Washington, he studied theology and journalism at Ambassador University, advertising design at Art Center College of Design and holds an MA in creativity studies and management from Goddard College. He served as design director and managing editor for Plain Truth magazine. In the late 1990s his work appeared regularly in MAD magazine. He has participated in the St.-Just-le-Martel Editorial Cartoon Festival in France and served twice as a judge for the Xiamen International Animation Festival in China. He serves on the board of the Association of American Editorial Cartoonists, and is a member of the National Cartoonists Society and France-Cartoons. He is son of cartoonist Basil Wolverton.
