HMWCG Advanced Trapping Training Day (AT220 Possum Trapping)

Kia Ora Koutou!

We are looking to train the next cohort of the community in the use of automatically resetting AT220 possum traps to assist in their biannual service round.

Please join for our Coastal Otago Training Day.

Our trap network spans the private land surrounding the Hikaroroa mauka and covers some amazingly beautiful (and steep!) terrain.

These events require an RSVP and will be first come, first served, so let us know if you are interested!

This event is requisite for anyone wanting to attend our 3-Day Bi-annual Community Trapping trip for the first time.

On the Day: Mammalian Corrections Unit (MCU) staff will train you in the use of AT220 traps, how to record their data, handheld GPS use, and UHF/VHF handheld radio use.

We will have a break for lunch. Then, in the afternoon, we will go over a trip plan and do some preparation for the upcoming service trip the following weekend.
