Please join us for the next concert of the 2025 season on Thursday, July 31st, for the City of Pontiac’s Rockin’ at the River concert series! This concert will take place at the Humiston – Riverside Bandshell from 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM. We will be featuring The Sweet Nothings, a traditional Jazz group band based out of Bloomington – Normal.
About The Sweet Nothings:
The Sweet Nothings is a traditional jazz group from Bloomington, Il led by Trenton Perry on guitar and vocals. The band consists of Allison Thabit on trumpet, Joe Holland on electric upright bass, and Eric Knutilla on his eclectic washboard/suitcase drumset. They are influenced by the music of the early swing period, such as Louis Armstrong, Fats Waller, Ella Fitzgerald, and Django Reinhardt. They bring fresh, new energy to the genre, and have become a recent favorite of the swing dance groups in central Illinois. They have been described as a mix between The Squirrel Nut Zippers and Postmodern Jukebox.
Rockin' at the River Concerts are family-friendly, free, and open to the public. Food vendors will have items for sale, or you can bring your own picnic! Bring your own lawn chairs or blankets to sit on; a small number of chairs will be available if you did not bring your own.
