Culture, history, liberation, and celebration take center stage at the 2025 Juneteenth Block Party with the African American Museum in Philadelphia!
Join AAMP as we commemorate the 160th legacy of Juneteenth and celebrate our 49th anniversary as one of the first institutions funded and built by a major municipality to preserve, interpret, and exhibit the heritage of African Americans. In partnership with Wawa and Welcome America, AAMP will host an all-day, family-friendly outdoor festival led by our mistress of ceremonies, Philadelphia’s own Patty Jackson from iHeart Radio and WDAS-FM. There will be live entertainment, activations, games, and education for everyone to enjoy!
This year, we have an impressive lineup of talented artists. We are excited to announce Grammy Award-winning DJ and Philadelphia native, DJ Drama, as the first performer. Stay tuned for more exciting reveals as we rAAMP up to celebrate another incredible Juneteenth Block Party!
The Block Party begins at 12 PM and will occur outside, behind the museum. All are welcome. This is a rain or shine event.
Courtesy of Wawa, guests will have free admission to the museum to explore our new exhibitions, “Demond Melancon: As Any Means Are Necessary” and “AAMP Presents: The Pearl Bailey Showcase”. Participate in thought-provoking gallery talks hosted by our AAMP-mazing team members while perusing our galleries.
Admittance into the museum is on a first-come, first-served basis and in accordance with gallery capacity. To learn more about Juneteenth visit aampmuseum.org/juneteenth-2025.html
