IF YOU MISSED THE NEWS IN THE LAST FEW DAYS…
Friends,
On Wednesday evening, we received some truly devastating news.
The company I run the pub for has been informed by Star Pubs & Bars that our lease will not be renewed, and we have been asked to vacate the premises.
As you can imagine, this has been incredibly hard to take. Over the past 3½ years, I’ve poured my heart and soul into this place – improving it, building it up, and turning it into something we could all be proud of. I had so many exciting plans lined up for 2026, and it’s heartbreaking to know we won’t get the chance to bring them to life.
But even now, I refuse to let this end on a low.
In 2025, we won 3 awards, and in 2026 we were nominated for 2 more (and we already know we won one of them) – a real testament to the amazing team and community that made The Star what it is.
We’ve shared some unforgettable moments together:
Mazey Day, Montol, birthdays, Halloween, Christmas, New Year…
Fancy dress nights where you all looked absolutely fab…
And legendary nights with Konqerin Soundz, Wetback – Traditional Folk Music, Open Mic Nights, Karaoke, and so many more.
Those memories are ours forever, and no one can take them away.
I also want to say a huge thank you to every single member of staff who has worked here. Your dedication, energy, and heart made all of this possible. I truly couldn’t have achieved what we have without you, and I will miss you all more than words can say. ❤️
To celebrate everything we’ve shared, we’ll be having a final blow-out party on 7th February.
After that, The Star will be closed from Sunday 8th until the new operator re-opens.
Penzance – you have been an absolute joy.
Thank you for the laughter, the love, the support, and the memories.
You will be sorely missed, but never forgotten. ❤️🍻
