Step into a vibrant world of color, texture, and memory in Echoes in Thread, an immersive art workshop inspired by the work of visual artist Angela Bolaños. Known for her embroidery on paper and fiber-based installations that explore ancestral memory, migration, and the spiritual connections between people and place, Bolaños’s practice invites us to reflect on our own layered identities.
In this hands-on workshop, participants will use fabric, paper, embroidery thread, yarn, found materials, and natural elements to create circular weavings that echo the forms and symbolism found in Bolaños’s Woven Circlescapes. Through intuitive and guided weaving and embroidery exercises, participants will explore personal histories, cultural roots, and the interconnectedness of land, lineage, and self.
This workshop is both meditative and expressive—encouraging participants to slow down, reflect, and share stories through tactile creation. Whether you are a seasoned maker or completely new to fiber arts, this is a space to connect, create, and honor the threads that shape who we are.
All materials provided. No prior experience necessary.
Registration is on a first come, first serve basis. This RSVP does not guarantee you a seat in the workshop.
