2-day Workshop: Working with Toiles

A toile is a prototype garment, sometimes also called a muslin, which is used to test and perfect the fit of a pattern before making it up in your chosen fabric. Working with toiles is an essential skill to have in your dressmaking toolkit, but if you don’t use the correct approach then you may end up going in endless circles of fitting and pattern adjusting.

In this 2-day course, you’ll gain hands-on experience in:

✔ The correct way to prepare a toile
✔ Maintaining grains and seam lines
✔ Where and when to adjust seam allowances
✔ Identifying and solving fit issues in a fitting
✔ Accurately translating changes to your paper pattern
✔ Creating a balanced, working pattern which is ready to use

Ideal for confident beginners and intermediate dressmakers who want to level up their dressmaking skills.
