This is a recce for a possible challenge event. The walk leader has not previously walked the entire route but we anticape having a local accompanying us to keep us right and advise on possible tweaks to route.
Car parking is free and toilets are available. The recce route is approximately 15 miles with the addition of 7 miles back from Traquair or Innerleithen. There is the option of bus return from there to Peebles.
General Notes
Much of the route is across moorland with some exposed but broad ridges.Should there may be inclement weather we will walk the "bad weather" alternative route for this section. Self-sufficiency in food & drink for a full day is highly recommended. Some exploring is anticipated as we will be looking for potential checkpoint locations; quite a few stops are expected.
