Meditation Drum Circle

We will be gathering again this Friday at the beautiful Lotus Yoga Centre to once again share in the joy of drumming and journey in rhythm and song.

10th October, The Lotus Yoga Centre, Paraparaumu, Wellington, 7pm - 9pm, $30 (door sales only – no need for prior booking).

What to expect: The evening begins with some brief drumming instruction before we settle into our first 'Round' of drumming. Over the 2 hours we have 4 'Rounds', each one organically evolving and weaving as we improvise and drum together. There is no right or wrong, correct way to play nor pressure to 'get it right' – The space is welcoming, warm and friendly - no drumming experience is required. You will need to supply your own drum.

Your facilitator: I am a registered music therapist working full time in the special needs education space. I have been involved with drumming for over 20 years, have been crafting medicine drums for roughly 15 years and have enjoyed hosting these meditation drum circles over the past year. I am passionate about the curative effects of immersing oneself into a meditative rhythmic space and connecting with the drum, oneself and others through this powerful and ancient practice.
