Join Ms. Heather for a 4-day workshop on creating an Indigo Vat and learning different Shibori dyeing patterns, a Japanese resist dyeing technique. Each student will experience the magic of indigo while learning different dyeing techniques to create their own project.
Ms Heather is a Waldorf Handwork teacher, an Early childhood educator, a mother, and a dreamer. She teaches a variety of Fiber Arts, including sewing, knitting, crochet, cross-stitch, embroidery, weaving, and felting. She has fallen in love with the magic of natural dyeing and enjoys sharing the unique experience. She is currently teaching at the North Fork School of Integrated Studies and offers nature-based summer camps in Paonia, Colorado.
Suggested donation is $60-$200 for the four class series, although no one is turned away for lack of funds. We operate all of our classes under the gift model, meaning that classes are free to all, and any gift of money, time or service can be used if desired to reciprocate. Arts for All is almost entirely funded by grants and donations we receive from classes and camps. This allows us to put on larger art events in schools at no cost to the students and institutions. Additionally, it allows us to offer classes and camps to anyone in our community who is unable to offer financial support, while at the same time providing our amazing teaching staff with a wage that reflects their talent and time.
