Portrait Drawing Workshop with Caleb Nelson Carter
Four Wednesdays – May 28, June 4, 11, 18 | 2 PM–4:00 PM
Join us for an extraordinary art experience. Accomplished New York-based realist artist Caleb Nelson Carter will lead a weekly, 2-hour Portrait Drawing Workshop, where attendees will learn to draw a portrait from a live model using step-by-step classical techniques—all in a fun and relaxed studio environment.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Over the course of the workshop, you’ll have the exciting opportunity to draw a portrait directly from a live model. Caleb will guide participants through the process of beginning and developing a realistic drawing through direct observation. Absolutely no prior art-making experience is required.
Caleb will demonstrate and draw alongside participants, offering personal guidance throughout. Ample time will be provided for questions and interaction. Each weekly session builds on the previous one, offering a unique, progressive learning experience.
This is a fresh approach to instruction, rooted in time-tested techniques over 100 years old. Whether you’re a novice, an experienced artist, or have never drawn more than a stick figure—this workshop is for you. Open to adults and teens alike.
Enrollment includes four 2-hour classes in total.

• All drawing materials, including pencil, paper, eraser, drawing board, easel, and seating
• Just bring yourself, a cheerful spirit, and a willingness to learn!
Please arrive a few minutes early—we begin promptly at 2:00 PM.
