As Bulls prepares for growth, we need to develop a plan that will protect, enhance, and ensure effective use of natural spaces in our community. The parks, reserves, walkways, and green spaces in Bulls facilitate community connection, and are important to making this place home.
To help us plan for growth, Rangitīkei District Council has partnered with Design Environment to prepare a Recreation and Open Space Network Survey and Analysis for Bulls.
The purpose of this project is to ensure a planned and cohesive approach to any future development of open spaces in the Bulls area.
Community Engagement
Engaging with stakeholders, iwi and hapū, and community groups is important for this project. We are holding a series of workshops in June to ensure this work is centred on the needs of the Bulls community, and the wider Rangitīkei.
This community engagement includes:
Meeting with iwi and/or hapū.
Meeting individually with groups who regularly use the Bulls domain and surrounding open spaces (such as sports clubs) to gain an understanding of their current membership rates, trends, events, issues, and aspirations.
Hosting an open public session to gather wider feedback from Bulls residents not explicitly connected to a user-group.
Bulls residents and interested community members are invited to attend the public session on Wednesday 4th June 5:15pm – 6:45pm at Te Matapihi, 4 Criterion St Bulls.
This is an opportunity for you to share how you currently use the Bulls domain and its surrounding green spaces, and the constraints and opportunities facing the spaces as you see them (e.g. limited parking or multi demand for playing fields).
