The spring session was amazing, and just like that we are at the summer session. THE LAST SESSION OF THE SEASON. If you didn’t get the opportunity to get some of the URBN sauce, this is your chance! Come and join us for the last 4 weeks of the year.
For this last session we are bringing back your favorite co-instructors from the previous sessions; Bella, and Jelissa will be returning, as we finish the year in style.
Time:
6:00pm-6:30pm – Open practice (for students only)
6:30pm-7:45pm – Foundation class
7:45pm-9:00pm Style class
Description:
The URBN classes are divided in two: the Foundation class and the Style class.
Foundation (6:30pm-7:45pm) – the foundation class is aimed to give you the essential elements you need, to not only dance, but also enjoy urbankiz. We cover foundational elements such as the difference between kizomba and urbankiz; from the music, to the dance, the frame, the walk, the hold, the frame… All the way to some of the urbankiz essential toolbox moves and concept (exits, weight transfers, syncopations…). This class is geared towards beginners and newcomers to the style. If you are a seasoned dancer, you will enjoy this refresher as well.
Style (7:45pm-9:00pm) – the style class is where each session we explore a stylistic theme or movement. For the last session of the year, we will dive into Musicality over the course of those 4 weeks. Through that exploration, we’ll apply some concepts from the previous class, as well as some new ones (Pivot, complex turns, shadow positions..). This class is geared towards intermediate dancers and is intended to open your mind, broaden your dance vocabulary, and find your style.
