This year Pride Night Market is fully funded by your favourite queer and trans small businesses! We are asking our community to help us cover some of the costs of this event.
How events are usually funded: LJB’s events are funded through vendor fees and support from small business sponsors. When we have higher costs, we charge a higher vendor fee to cover those costs. For a queer and trans market we don’t want to charge higher vendor fees because that can be a barrier for a lot of 2SLGBTQIA+ small business owners and artists. As a specifically queer and trans space we think it’s important for vendor fees to be as accessible as possible without the event costs falling on another queer and trans business.
We had the idea of asking our community to help us support queer and trans spaces. So we are hosting an auction full of goods from our pals to support this event.
Where do the funds go?
-Help cover a percentage of vendor fees to offer more financially accessible spots.
-Help us offer a sliding scale with a mentorship option for vendors.
-Help us book queer and trans performers for the night.
-Help cover other event costs like staffing, insurance, waste management, etc…
