About the event

International Astronomy Day

On Saturday May 3rd, 2025, meet local amateur astronomers and learn about the wonders of the night sky. See telescopes of many different sizes and types, and find out how they work. See live demonstrations of astrophotography and video observing. Explore the static displays and free informative handouts.

Free Public Viewing Session:
Observe the Sun through a telescope (safely using special filters) ongoing through the day until sunset. Then, from sunset to 10pm, check out the Moon, Mars, Jupiter, and more wonders of the night sky. Spread the word and bring the whole family!

In case of poor weather, the rain date will be Sunday May 4th.
