Djely Tapa at the NAC / au CNA

Djely Tapa will be performing her new album Dankoroba!
Rooted in many dimensions, rich in a wide range of emotions, Dankoroba is inspired by the thousand-year-old music and blues of Mali, electronic sounds and futuristic landscapes. The album features guest stars such as Vieux Farka Touré.

With Dankoraba, Djely Tapa pursues her artistic vision at the intersection of Malian and Western cultures, past, present and future. Her repertoire blends Mandingo traditions, desert blues, and electronic sounds. In 2019, she made her solo debut with her album Barokan (2020 Juno Award, World Music Album of the Year) and was named Révélation Radio-Canada.

Djely Tapa présentera son nouvel album Dankoroba !
Enraciné dans de multiples dimensions, riche d'une large palette d'émotions, Dankoroba s'inspire de la musique et du blues millénaires du Mali, de sonorités électroniques et de paysages futuristes. L'album compte parmi ses invités Vieux Farka Touré.

Avec Dankoraba, Djely Tapa poursuit sa vision artistique à la croisée des cultures maliennes et occidentales, passées, présentes et futures. Son répertoire mêle traditions mandingues, blues du désert et sons électroniques. En 2019, elle fait ses débuts en solo avec son album Barokan (prix Juno 2020, album de musique du monde de l'année) et est nommée Révélation Radio-Canada.
