Musicians workshop: Ritmo Compartido (Shared Rhythm)

For musicians from all ages and nationalities.
This afternoon we invites musicians in the town to join an 2hr Latin music gathering workshop at Kruttverket.
We invite you to share, feel and celebrate the stories of resistance, joy, and resilience.
By this workshop we will create an ensemble by practicing, learning and preparing material with latin content. The material will be presented as simply as possible. The scores will be sent in advance to all musicians. Outcome of the workshop will be played at the concert by night.
* Required level: acceptable reading, technical handling of the instrument.
* Bring you own instruments except drums, we have a set in house.
* The workshop is free and open for all, we prefer participants to register in advance so we can better plan for space and setup:

Workshop Structure 17.00 - 19.00 :
- Welcome & Introduction
- Rhythmic exercises
With and without the instrument related to various latin rhythms, gradually focusing on the rhythm of the featured piece.
- Reading of score: “Vestido longo”
We will read this piece by Arismar Espírito Santo, brazilian composer.

- Setting up the ensemble.
Rhythmic section, wind ensemble, form, spaces for improvisations, etc.
- Ideas for improvisation over the song form.
- Rehearse the piece, celebrate, get ready for the evening concert.
