⭐️ In Latin American music, every voice counts.
It’s not about playing perfectly—it’s about playing together.
We listen. We respond. We share. We create rhythms that make us move, laugh, and feel alive.
Our mantra:
"Alle går! ¡Todos juegan! Everyone plays!"

⭐️ This workshop is a basic approach to latin rhythms by interacting in a communitary and joyful way.
Together we will explore latin rhythms with our body, elements in the room and little percussion instruments like shakers and sticks.

⭐️ The workshop will be led by our old friend Odguer from Mexico, and Andrés, who visits us every summer all the way from Argentina with his band.
Two musicians separated by over 6,000 kilometers, meet at Kruttverket, brought together by a shared cultural heritage that spans across Latin America.

🎵 The workshop includes short and engaging sessions, which takes 5–15 minutes each :

- Exploring Sounds
We’ll begin by getting to know the sounds we’ll be play with. No rhythm or pulse needed, just curiosity. Everyone gets to experiment freely with a variety of sounds.

- Call and Response
We move into question-and-answer games, starting simply, then adding rhythm and longer phrases as we go. It’s all about listening and responding through sound.

- Creating an Ensemble
We’ll assign into two groups, each playing something different. This lets us explore how music moves between people - how sound flows, contrasts, and connects.

- Little Pause
A short “concentration break” especially for the kids. Odguer and Andrés will share songs from their homelands - Son Jarocho from Mexico and Chacarera from Argentina. Though the songs come from far apart, their rhythms will show us how closely connected they really are.

- Building the Ensemble
Using the rhythm we just heard, we’ll put together a group piece. Kids will rotate between the two parts, trying out both sides.

- Final Performance
We’ll end the workshop with a group performance: a medley of two songs - one from Mexico, one from Argentina, played and sung by Odguer and Andrés, with the kids forming the full ensemble.

⭐️ Families, friends, and other guests at Kruttverket are welcome to join, if the kids are comfortable with it!
