Meetra Nahavandi grew up in Madison, Wisconsin in a loving home surrounded by her family. From the beginning of life, she was met with multiple challenges; emergency surgery at birth, surgery at 3 months to relieve hydrocephalus, and learning to walk at 2 with a walker. She went to school, played, and never thought of herself as being different than her peers; until the bullying began. Meetra persevered and was able to rise above it stronger.
From navigating school, independent living, experiencing her first love, solo international travel, mental health scares, and finally rising above challenges as a disabled adult in modern society, Meetra's powerful memoir sheds light on an incredible life living with a physical disability in a world that was not equipped to see her thrive. Being thrown into an unknown cliche of "too able to be disabled" paved the way for much of Meetra's passions and endeavors.
Join this journey as Meetra shares her defiance and says, "Watch me..." to all those who did not believe she could succeed or thrive.
