Somatic Movement Class

What is Somatics? It is simply movement re-education by bringing one’s awareness back to one’s body. Sometimes with chronic pain our body adapts by over-compensating in an area where one has no pain. Somatic’s is noticing where you feel pain so you can correct, reduce, or even elimate the pain for a long period of time through simple movements done lying down and sitting.

All movements are done lying on the mat so there is no getting up and down on the mat like yoga. Somatic movement is meant to be done like yawning when you first wake up in the morning, gentle and effortless. This class is for all adults, no matter your fitness level.
