Walk With Shelter Dogs

***Walks are on a first come first serve basis. We usually always have 30-40 dogs available to walk, but may occasionally have more. Only two dogs per group.

🚶🏼‍♀️🚶🏻‍♂️🚶🏻 We are challenging our community to take a SHELTER dog on a walk! It is a really rewarding way to get active and help our adoption dogs get noticed and some much-needed human interaction.

We will start at 9:30am and walk a portion of the South Grand Trail (about 2 miles). An employee and volunteers will be walking the trail along with you to assist. Once you arrive (starting at 9:15am), we will get you paired with a dog! The walk will take roughly an hour. But, we are in no rush! Hang out with your adoptable dog and get to know them!

🤝 Meet here at the shelter (2811 SE 29th st) on the front lawn. *Please meet up in the grass area away from the front door and form a signal file line.

Everyone is welcome! Even if you don't want to walk a dog but want to join in -- come on!

Bring a 🥤water and dress in comfy 🚶🏼‍♀️walking clothes and 👟shoes.

🎉🎉The walk will be followed by adoptions starting at noon!!

** While we understand there are a lot of dogs in the shelter, only certain ones are able to attend the walks. We can usually always guarantee at least 30 dogs!
