Platonic Love Mixer: Oakland Edition

Friendship is having a cultural moment right now. A great deal of our society is waking up to the fact that friendships are critical to our survival, happiness, and overall well-being. This is not just an opinion; the science supports it. Friendships are not only good for you, but we need them. Which is why, everywhere you turn, friendship events are popping up, but there is only one Platonic Love Mixer.

The Platonic Love Mixer sits at the intersection of the transformative power of Platonic love and social justice. It is not just friendship for friendship's sake. As your Black feminist fairy-platonic love muva, I curate an intergenerational, multi-racial, and multi-ethnic space for you to not only meet people who can potentially become casual or deep friends, but I am also bringing us together with the hopes of gaining new comrades in anti-racist gender liberation struggle. I believe in this mission so much that we are taking this event out of South Florida and on the road.

Join me The Social Justice Doula for the first Platonic Love Mixer in Oakland, California sponsored by Radically Fit Gym the premiere queer and trans gym. This event is for girls/gworls, theys, and gays. This event is also open to straight/cis people. However, keep in mind this event will culturally center queer and trans Black and non-Black people of color and gender-expansive people.

On Saturday, June 15th, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., hang with me and let me help you meet a potential homie/comrade. There will be music, lite bites, activities to help spark a platonic connection, and plenty of good vibes. Tell a friend, to tell a friend, to pull up so we can make new friend(s).

Accessible entrances and bathrooms are available. For our COVID-cautious homies, masks are available and required.
