OCA-East Bay is in its NINETH YEAR running its monthly volunteer-led cleanup program called "PickITup Chinatown". The goal, in addition to removing litter and illegal dumping out of the neighorhood, is to teach volunteers the values of community ownership, values we hope they will use in wherever they consider their community.
If not otherwise listed for MLK Day, Earth Day or other special events, we run these events on Second Sundays of each month.
We have gotten a lot of support from countless individuals as well as community groups/public officials, including regular support from:
- City of Oakland Adopt A Spot Program
- Asian Youth Services Committee
- Oakland Chinatown Improvement Council
- Oakland Chinatown Chamber of Commerce
Join us this year, we will be going out on Second Sundays unless there is major weather.
