BioBlitz 2025

Get an up-close, hands-on look at the scientific process in action! Pittsburgh Botanic Garden’s BioBlitz 2025 is a community science program aiming to make science accessible and fun for all. Over two days, scientists from all over the Pittsburgh region will gather at the Garden to make observations, record their findings and take a snapshot of the fascinating biodiversity at Pittsburgh Botanic Garden. Data will be shared using iNaturalist, a free app that allows anyone to share their observations and learn more about the natural world with nothing more than a smartphone, tablet or computer.

There are two ways to participate:

1. If you have iNaturalist downloaded on your smartphone or tablet, you may visit on the 19th or 20th and submit your observations to the BioBlitz project for no additional cost.

2. Reserve tickets to receive access to Base Camp, where guest scientists will be gathered to evaluate their findings, share real-time data collected during the event, and discuss the significance of these vital ecological findings. Tickets for the 19th and 20th must be reserved separately.
