Come join us for an evening filled with inspiring stories and insightful discussions as Ayodele Olayinka and Maryam Myika Day share their journey as authors. This in-person event will include a round table open dialogue, book signing and open sketch color for youth. Join us for an uplifting conversation — an open dialogue with parents, elders and guardians on how to discuss death, trauma and anxiety with their littles in this time of challenges and uncertanity.

Discover the inspiration behind their books, the challenges they faced, and the triumphs they celebrated. Whether you're an aspiring writer or a book lover, this Author Talk promises to be engaging and thought-provoking.

Ayodélé Omotolani Olayinka, 10, is a first time author with, ‘This Is My Story’. She is passionate about causes that are near to her. Ayodélé is committed to helping friends and children become leaders by finding their voice and pursuing their dreams. After losing her father at the tender age of 8 months old, Ayodélé has dedicated herself to sharing her experiences so that other children will never know what it’s like to be without a father’s love.

Maryam Myika Day is an award-winning screenwriter, actor and producer whose credits include penning the untold story of Motown’s Tammi Terrell biopic Mountain High, starring Kat Graham. Her Christmas movie, A Sisterly Christmas, for OWN aired in 2021 starring Deborah Joy Winans. And on the writing team for Lifetime Television's, WRATH: A Seven Deadly Sins Story, starring Michelle Williams and Tina Knowles. Her acting career began in the 2001 Tony Award Winning revival of 42nd Street and television appearances including NBC’s Law & Order, This is Us, Rescue Me and more.
