++Summer Concert Series at Look Park++
HAZMAT MODINE is “a uniquely intercontinental sonic collage encompassing a tremendous range of instrumental, vocal, and conceptual originality–all with a lot of soul and groove.” This dynamic eight-piece band has toured and performed original songs for 25+ years with genre-defying music that is quintessentially New York–vibrant international cultures meets American Roots. Diverse backgrounds in Gypsy Jazz, Downtown Avant Guard loft music, Blues, Soul, Country, Rock n’ Roll, and Roots is written and performed by musicians whose ages span every decade from their 20s to 70s.
Unique instrumentation matches virtuosic trumpet, saxophone, trombone, guitar, tuba, harmonica, drums, banjo, and violin with a fantastical array of folk instruments and guest performers. The extraordinary vocals by lead Wade Schuman are riveting, rousing, and emotive, and his mastery of harmonica is unparalleled.
How does it work? Weather permitting, we'll be at the Sanctuary in Look Park and if it rains, we'll be inside at Bombyx. It's a sure thing either way. There's plenty of parking near the Sanctuary, including spaces for vehicles with ADA placards. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and picnic (but leave the alcohol at home). See you there!
Please note: no outside alcohol is permitted into the event. Look Park will be providing beer and wine for purchase on-site. We won't be food for sale at this event so be sure to pack a picnic. Don't feel like cooking ahead? Support our nearby Florence restaurants and order take out!
Important: there is a $5 entry fee into the Park for vehicles without a season pass, handicap placard, or veterans plates. Ticket holders can purchase a season pass for a $10 discount at the concert only and must show their vehicle entry ticket.
