Celebration of Life Motorcycle Ride for Dennis "Speedbump" Kirsch

Join us for a Celebration of Life Motorcycle Ride in honor of Dennis “Speedbump” Kirsch on Saturday, June 28, 2025. Riders are encouraged to gather at AMVETS Post 2000 in North Port between 9:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. Safety briefing will be at 10 a.m. with KSU at 10:15 a.m.

The route will travel from AMVETS Post 2000 in Warm Mineral Springs to Arcadia with stops at American Legion K Post 11 and AMVETS 60. We will stay for one hour at each location. From there, the ride will traverse to Port Charlotte to American Legion Post 110, where we will stay for an hour. After that, the ride will travel to VFW Post 8203 in North Port for a celebration following the ride.

At the celebration, there will be entertainment by Rockin’ Rick Rice and food. Friends and family are encouraged to bring a dish to pass before 3 p.m.

For those who did not know Dennis Kirsch, please know that he donated a lot of his time and resources to assist veterans, military families and the community. The stops along this route were among some of his favorite places to visit and support.

It is a great loss to the community that Dennis is no longer with us, and many of us in American Legion Riders District 8 miss him dearly. We hope you join us for a ride as we honor someone who truly made a difference in the community – and in our hearts.
