Five standout native plants tell rich stories of beauty, resilience, and purpose:
🌿 Banksia integrifolia (Coast Banksia) graces coastal landscapes with golden flower spikes, nourishing birds, bees, and possums — once known as “honeysuckle” by early settlers for its sweet nectar.
🔥 Xanthorrhoea johnsonii (Grass Tree), with its dramatic form and ancient lineage, is a symbol of survival and renewal — thriving through fire and drought for thousands of years.
🍋 Corymbia citriodora ‘Lemon Essence’, the dwarf flowering lemon-scented gum, produces elegant white blooms and a fresh citrus fragrance that delights pollinators and gardeners alike.
🦟 Leptospermum liversedgeii, affectionately known as the Mozzie Blocker, releases aromatic oils that naturally repel mosquitoes while supporting native insects and pollinators.
🌸 Orthosiphon aristatus (Cat’s Whiskers), with its delicate, whisker-like blooms, is beloved by bees and butterflies and valued in bush medicine for its gentle healing properties — found blooming throughout Fairhill’s Botanical Gardens.
