Join the women from HAD for an unforgettable day of exploration, storytelling, and community building across Cyprus rich cultural landscape, under the professional and inspiring guidance of our Katie Economidou.
● Visit to Dali: Panayia Evangelistria Church and Mosque
Participants will begin with a visit to the village of Dali, where they will explore two important religious and cultural sites: the Panayia Evangelistria Church and the local mosque. This part of the program offers a symbolic reflection on the shared and diverse spiritual heritage of Cyprus and encourages interfaith dialogue in a spirit of mutual respect and coexistence.
● Exploration of Potamia’s Historical Landmarks*
The journey continues in Potamia, a village known for its rich multicultural history and architectural heritage.
Highlights include:
The restored traditional water mill, a testament to the village’s agricultural past.
The caves of Agios Sozomenos, a site associated with the early Christian hermit tradition, offering a unique glimpse into local spiritual history.
A visit to the mansion of Queen Ekaterini Cornaro, the last monarch of Cyprus, where participants will learn about her legacy and the Venetian influence on the island.
The Holy Cross Church, an important place of worship and community gathering that represents the long-standing Christian presence in the region.
● Human Library and Dialogue with the Women of Potamia
In the afternoon, an interactive activity where local women from Potamia will share their personal stories and lived experiences related to community life, cultural coexistence, and peacebuilding.
This will be followed by open discussions, fostering connection, empathy, and mutual understanding, and highlighting the vital role women play in shaping inclusive and resilient communities.
Drinks and snacks will be served during the discussions
Return to Nicosia at 16:00 hrs the latest
*please note that due to the fact that Archaeological sites are closed on weekends, we will see these only from the outside
