Step into the Island’s milling history with this one-off, guided 8-mile walk from Pan Mill in Newport to the historic Water Mill in Calbourne.
Along the way, you’ll explore the story of the Island’s mills—past and present—as we pass several key sites in and around Newport before heading west through varied countryside on footpaths, quiet lanes, and scenic stretches of the Caul Bourne valley.
We’ll finish at The Water Mill, Calbourne in time for a late lunch in the Mill café, with a choice of sandwich, soup or jacket potato included in your ticket.
This is a point-to-point walk, with an option to return to Newport via the Southern Vectis Summer Links bus, which departs from the Mill at 13:35pm or 15:35pm.
