DAYZ OUT IN PORTHCAWL Exhibition Preview

Coming Soon, 'DAYZ OUT IN PORTHCAWL' an exhibition of recent photographs by Ron McCormick showing at Newport's Clwb Ffoto in the magnificent Victorian, Newport Arcade.
Ron McCormick has been photographing the British seaside off and on for nearly 50 years and first exhibited some of that work in 1973 in a two-man show with Josef Koudelka) about the seaside resort of Southend on Sea. This current work returns to the seaside theme with a selection of photographs made in Porthcawl and features 'a family day at the seaside', 'girls nights out' and 'the cult of Elvis' all overlaid with a slight alcoholic haze and a strong sense of hedonistic celebration that mirrors the extravagant indulgence of Blackpool, Brighton and Bognor.
