FIRE !!

Inspired by the Harlem Renaissance Magazine of the same name, FIRE!! We seek to exhibit artists from New Jersey and New York in one place for one night only! A Quarterly Devoted to the Younger Negro Artists was an African American literary magazine published in New York City in 1926 during the Harlem Renaissance. In Fire!! they explored controversial issues in the Black community, such as homosexuality, bisexuality, interracial relationships, promiscuity, prostitution, and color prejudice. FIRE !! celebrates a new era where BIPOC artists are celebrated for exploring these themes and expressing themselves freely. Treating this like a FIRE !! Issue come to life we will have art, writing, and poetry come together for one night at 966 Bergen St, Newark, NJ.
