Defying Legal Gravity's Youth Legal Empowerment Conference is the first event of its kind, bringing together youth leaders, legal advocates, and community stakeholders to explore practical strategies for community- built justice.
This one-day gathering will feature workshops led by DLG’s Legal Empowerment Fellows, discussions by graduates of the program, and a panel of experts dedicated to democratizing legal knowledge.
This is not a conference about access to legal services—it’s about taking legal power back.
DLG is proud to lead this movement. Join us in shaping a future where legal power belongs to the people.
Info: Welcome remarks by DLG's Co-Founders, Craig Shepherd & Diana Imbert-Hodges.
Info: A plenary discussion on the importance of legal empowerment, led by alumni of DLG's Legal Empowerment Fellowship and moderated by Jhody Polk of the Jailhouse Lawyers Initiative/NYU Law School's Bernstein Center for Human Rights.
