Join us for a five week group adult introductory garment sewing class this summer! Class size is limited to six people, so you will be sure to get plenty of individualized attention. During our time together you will learn to alter patterns to fit your size, basic garment sewing techniques for a variety of fabric types, and design elements like customizing pockets and topstitching. You will also complete a lined reversible criss cross apron from Mary Mulari Designs and a Cielo top or dress from Closet Core Patterns. You will need to do some sewing and fabric cutting outside of class to complete your projects in five weeks. If you don't have access to a sewing machine outside of class time, let us know. You can rent studio time at the shop for a discounted rate of $10.00/hr.
Level: Advanced Beginner/Intermediate
You need to be able to make a bobbin and properly thread your machine, adjust stitch width and stitch length on your sewing machine, switch between zig-zag and straight stitches, and carefully follow seam allowances. If you aren't sure if you have these skills, email us at

Price: $225.00
The cost of the class includes six+ hours of instruction in a small group setting, 2 hours of guided studio sew time, use of our sewing studio and tools, and the two patterns for the class projects. If you own a sewing machine, we encourage you to bring it to the first class. We have sewing machines available in our sewing studio to use during the class, if you don't have your own machine. You will need to purchase fabric for your projects. Yardage requirements and more information will be provided when you sign up for the class. Students receive a 20% discount on fabric purchases made in the shop for this class.
Time: Mondays, 5:30 - 7:00 p.m., 7/21, 7/28, 8/4, 8/18, & 8/25. (No class on 8/11.)
