IPAL is honored to partner with the Acadiana Center for the Arts to present The Little Mermaid, Jr. at the Heymann Performing Arts Center.
The ACA’s “Arts Experiences for All” program exposes every Lafayette Parish public school student in PreK through middle school to theatre, music, dance, and arts events. This year, IPAL is elated to be able to present a show that all the LPSS first and second graders will experience, free of charge
That means we need YOU for this unbelievable opportunity to perform onstage in front of over 1000 people at a time!
Auditions and rehearsals will take place at IPAL (except for one technical rehearsal in Lafayette on the evening of October 1st) and performances will take place at the Heymann Center during the mornings of October 2nd and 3rd. What a cool thing to be a part of! 😎
The Little Mermaid JR. follows the story of Ariel, a mermaid who longs to be human and explore the world above. She makes a deal with the sea witch, Ursula, to trade her tail for legs, but faces challenges in her quest to win the love of Prince Eric.

🎤Auditions:
•June 28th from 10am-2pm at IPAL
•Sing roughly 1 minute of a song sung by the character you’re auditioning for. You’re welcome to play a karaoke track on your phone as you sing to help guide you; otherwise, your audition will be a capella.
•Cold read a scene from the show that will be provided at auditions.
🗣️Callbacks:
•Callbacks may be held if needed for select roles. If they do occur, they will take place on the same day of auditions, later in the afternoon. Performers that are called back will be notified at that time.
💃🏼Rehearsals:
•Beginning July 14th, every Monday-Friday from 1pm-4pm at IPAL
•Once school begins, we will transition to a twice weekly schedule of 4:30pm-6pm on Mondays and Tuesdays only
