2025 Summer Games
Special Olympics Connecticut will host its 2025 Summer Games presented by Pratt & Whitney on Friday, June 6th, Saturday, June 7th and Sunday, June 8th. During the event, athletes of all abilities will compete in cycling, soccer, swimming, tennis, and track & field. All events are open to the public and free to attend. Summer Games weekend will kick off with a festive Opening Ceremony at Southern Connecticut State University's Jess Dow Field, 125 Wintergreen Avenue in New Haven, on Friday, June 6th at 6:30 p.m. The Opening Ceremony will feature a parade of athletes and the Final Leg of the Connecticut Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. Earlier that day, a developmental aquatics competitive event will take place at the Hamden Hall Beckerman Athletic Center, 225 Skiff Street, Hamden, at noon.

Swimming and track & field events will take place at Southern Connecticut State University, 501 Crescent Street, New Haven and soccer and tennis competition will be held at the Hamden Hall Beckerman Athletic Center on both Saturday and Sunday. Cycling competition will be held at Yale West Campus, 100 West Campus Drive, Orange, on Saturday. Events will take place on Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. In addition, a Victory Dance will be held at Southern Connecticut State University on Saturday evening, 7 to 9 p.m.

Returning to the Games this year will be a Healthy Athletes Village offering Summer Games participants free screenings in 7 disciplines including FUNfitness (physical therapy), Fit Feet (podiatry), Health Promotion (prevention and nutrition), Healthy Hearing (audiology - Saturday only), Opening Eye (vision), Strong Minds (emotional health) and Special Smiles (dentistry). The screenings will be made possible through the involvement of medical students and practitioners who will volunteer their time and expertise. The Healthy Athletes Village will operate on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. A Healthy Athletes® Health and Wellness Fair will also be held at Hamden Hall on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The objective of the Special Olympics Healthy Athletes® programming is to give Summer Games participants of all abilities access to free healthcare so they can perform their best in sports and in life.
