Vocal Locals are Christi Colombo and Micah Cone, vocals with Ken Hardin, piano (artistic director of InConcert Sierra).
Christi Colombo is a fourth-generation performer with a passion for the stage that began at age four. She recently captivated audiences as Mama Duck in Sierra Stages’ Summer 2024 production of “Honk!” Christi’s diverse performance background includes a range of theatrical roles. Some of her favorites include Witch in “Into the Woods,” Peter Pan in “Peter Pan,” Francesca in “The Bridges of Madison County,” and Tobias in “Sweeney Todd.” She honed her craft at the AMDA College of the Performing Arts in Los Angeles, earning a BFA in Performing Arts. Christi is delighted to be working with Ken Hardin and Micah Cone again, and is grateful to our community for continued opportunities to perform.
Micah Cone has been a prominent figure in Nevada County’s theater and music scene for three decades, performing as both an actor and singer in numerous productions. His musical journey began with four years in the award-winning Nevada Union High School (NUHS) choral program, where he participated in two European tours. During these tours, he sang in an ensemble of over 1,000 for a performance of Verdi’s Requiem at the Vatican and was part of the winning performance at the International Youth Choral Festival in Vienna, Austria. Micah currently sings tenor in the Sierra Master Chorale and serves as Production Manager for InConcert Sierra, where he continues to share his passion for the performing arts.
Ken Hardin is a driving force behind Nevada County’s vibrant performing arts scene. As Artistic Director of InConcert Sierra, conductor of the InConcert Sierra Orchestra, and founding conductor of the Sierra Master Chorale, he has shaped and elevated the region’s musical landscape. His distinguished career spans jazz, Broadway, and classical music, showcasing a depth of expertise in conducting, performing, and teaching. As a versatile and highly respected musician, Ken has contributed his talents as a pianist, music director, vocal coach, conductor, and mentor, working with nearly every local performing arts organization and an abundance of local musicians. Beyond the stage, he plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of the arts as co-project manager of InConcert Sierra’s visionary Crown Point Venues project,
currently under construction.
The collaboration between the Nevada County library and InConcert Sierra presents live music experiences with a fun educational twist at the Marian E. Gallaher, M.D. Amphitheater, adjacent to the Madelyn Helling Library at the Rood Center.
