On Thursday, August 7 at 7pm, Beaches Watch will host a Town Hall with our beaches state legislators. The meeting will be held at the Beaches Branch Public Library, 600 Third Street, Neptune Beach, Florida and is open to the public. Please enter the north library entrance because the south entrance (main entrance) will be locked.
NOTE: The date is changed to Thursday for this Town Hall!
Senator Clay Yarborough and Representative Kiyan Michael who represent our beaches communities in Tallahassee, will be participating in the Town Hall to give beaches residents an opportunity to interface with their state legislators. Topics expected to be discussed are: the Live Local Act expansion and it’s impact on our beaches, the proposed elimination of property taxes, vacation rentals, child protections, illegal immigration and their priorities for the 2026 Legislative Session. The Town Hall will also be a great opportunity for our state legislators to understand the issues important to their beaches constituents. There will also be an opportunity for attendees to ask our state legislators questions.
Established in 2004 as a non-profit, non-partisan civic organization, Beaches Watch promotes and facilitates educated and productive citizen involvement in local and state government decisions that affect the quality of life in our beach communities. Informative monthly meetings, candidate forums for area elections, and special community programs provide factual information for the general public and government officials while encouraging citizen participation.
