2025 Martin Shallenberger Artist-in-Residence Tamara Kostianovsky

Argentine American, Brooklyn-based mixed media artist Tamara Kostianovsky is Cheekwood’s 2025 Artist-in-Residence.

Kostianovsky’s sculptural installations, often crafted from discarded textiles, are both intimate and tactile, transforming personal materials like old clothes and linens into surreal forms. Her work combines realism and surrealism, often evoking themes of vulnerability, ecology, and the environment. Through her careful manipulation of fabric, stitches, and textures, Kostianovsky continually reinvents her practice, creating dynamic works that explore memory, nature, and renewal.
