About the event

At the River Summer Series launches on June 26th in Saunderstown!
AT THE RIVER SERIES SHOW ON JUNE 26 STARTS THE SUMMER OFF WITH THE TALENTED LISA BELSKY, PAUL COLOMBINO, MARY PIERCE AND MARGI GIANQUINTO.

About this Event

Women Folk is very excited to bring nearly 2 years of monthly Shows At the River at Pettaquamscutt Lake Shores Clubhouse (50 Woodsia Road). Shows are held the last Thursday of each month (except for Oct-Dec).

On Thursday, June 26th at 7pm we are thrilled to announce Boston based Lisa Belsky, a local icon Paul Colombino, and sisters Mary Pierce and Margi Gianquinto as the featured artists. Come and take a listen to these wonderful, professional shows!

Lisa Belsky lisabelskymusic.com

is a singer-songwriter, Boston Public Schools music teacher, wife and mother of two, residing south of Boston in Easton, Massachusetts. With an admiring nod to Ella, Patsy, Gillian, and Neko, Lisa crafts original songs with retro-country vibes that are sonically new, yet seemingly timeless. Her “velvet” voice can burn slow, or burn it down.

Released in April of 2023, her debut album Riot of Trees is an easy blend of Americana, Django-inspired rhythms, and unexpected melodies. Lisa’s songs are richly layered with imaginative lyrics that feature twisting metaphors and rhythmic wordplay. Riot of Trees is a collection of old songs, new songs, love songs and blue songs, spanning the last couple decades.

Paul Colombino paulcolombino.com

Known for his finger-style guitar and compelling original songs, Paul Colombino has become somewhat of a household name in Rhode Island. He began playing guitar at the young age of ten and studied classical guitar during his college years. Classical composition and orchestration during this period were invaluable in providing the skills necessary to construct melody and accompaniment on a single instrument, learning to write for the guitar as if it were a vocalist accompanied by a miniature orchestra.

Paul's first album, released in 1996 and entitled Everheart, is a collection of original instrumental pieces for solo guitar. The second CD circa 2002 is called A Guitar for Christmas and contains instrumental finger style versions of classic Christmas songs. The third, Once and Again, is a collaboration with my long-time friend and singing partner Glen Bottalico. The songs are harmony-infused covers of artists as diverse as Paul Simon, Sandy Denny, Sting, Eva Cassidy and Crosby, Stills and Nash. My latest album, Hello Old Friend, was released in 2019 and is comprised of finger style instrumentals and vocal tunes.

His notable Accomplishments are extensive: International Acoustic Music Award Winner - Instrumental - for the song "Kottke" 2023, Finalist, Race to the Stage Contest, East Greenwich, RI 2019, Self-produced, recorded and released 4th album, Hello Old Friend,September 2019., Trending on FAI Folk Chart Top Albums of the Month, September 2022 (Hello Old Friend)
