Spirits of Mystics

Mystic has been making a splash in the food world for quite a while now, but did you know it’s also home to some of the finest craft spirit brands as well? Join Mystic’s own Anthony Caporale, award-winning mixology author and star of “The Imbible” series of long-running Off-Broadway musicals about the history of cocktails and spirits, and Kitch for a guided tour of our local libations. We’ll explore each drink’s unique history, learn how it’s made, and of course sample the elixir itself! On the menu are Ship’s Bell Bourbon and Limoncello from Stonington’s Veritable Distillery, South County Distillers in Westerly RI. Whether you love to eat and drink local, or if you just enjoy world-class culinary experiences, you won’t want to miss this one-of-a-king opportunity to view Mystic through a liquid lens! This selection of unique spirits will be provided by Spencer and Lynn Wine and Spirit Merchants of Downtown Mystic.

About Chef Anthony
Anthony is an internationally-renowned mixology author, educator, and consultant specializing in the history and science of alcoholic beverages, and works with some of the largest beverage companies in the world. He has been the Director of Spirits Education and Research at New York’s top-ranked Institute of Culinary Education for over a decade, and authored the cocktail chapter of their groundbreaking cookbook, “Recipes for Innovation.” Anthony is also the producer, playwright, and star of “The Imbible” series of NYC-based musicals about the history of cocktails and spirits, which have become some of the longest-running Off-Broadway shows of all time as well as high-volume bar programs. He’s given two “Talks at Google,” he was the featured Cocktail Historian on The Smithsonian Channel‘s “Searching For Secrets: New York” episode, and he recently completed curating an exhibition on Temperance and Trade for Mystic Seaport Museum, the nation’s leading maritime museum. In addition, Anthony served as the National Brand Ambassador for Drambuie Scotch Liqueur and Truvia Natural Sweetener, as well as the Managing Editor for Chilled Magazine, where he currently writes their “Business of Bartending”.
