Nrityanjali, founded in 1963 by Dr. Tushar Guha, is a registered public charitable trust, dedicated to serving society for the past 62 years through initiatives in Girl Child Education, Boy Child Education, Principal and Teacher skill enhancement, Mental Health, Performing Arts (Music, Dance, Drama), Women Empowerment, Rehabilitation of Destitute women, Victims of Domestic Violence, Jail inmates, initiatives for Old Age Homes, Orphanages, Sanitation, Sustainable Environment, Cleanliness Drives and measures taken for Covid Relief.
The Presentation of Kathak dance by versatile danseuse Aditi Bhagwat and Dance Drama Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu directed by veteran dancer-choreographer Dr. Tushar Guha, is a Fund Raiser for Girl Child Education - Nrityanjali’s Project Unnat Yuvati. The dance performances promise to stir the soul, energise the inner being while spreading messages of Peace and Love.
Aditi Bhagwat’s Kathak performance will bind us in Taal and Laya, beginning with a Shiva Vandana, followed by a rendition of Kathak dance, that will portray the intricate aspects of this classical dance style form the North India.
Dance Drama Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu with authenticated information shared from Sri Chaitanya Charitamrata of ISKCON and Shri Shri Prema Dhama Deva Stotram led by Shripad Bhudev Prabhu, the script of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu is approved by Sri Bhakti Vedanta Narayan Prabhuji of Shri Keshavji Gaudiya Math is based on the life of Sri Chaitanya born in 1486 AD.
Conceptualised, choreographed and directed by Guru Dr. Tushar Guha, presented in Hindi with songs in Bengali, it depicts the need for re-incarnation of Lord Shri Krishna as Nimai (later Chaitanya) and how the message of love and peace spread through his simple ways of life, his knowledge and his compassion. The music composed by Padmashri Pt. Ronu Majumdar, strictly retains the Bengali feel, while incorporating creative music, to present a very colourful visual dimension.
Nrityanjali, the institute of performing arts, education, personality development, social and management services while being multidimensional, is dedicated to music, dance, drama for the last 6 decades and it is though the performing arts that Nrityanjali started its journey, striving to reach its goal of social service. Nrityanjali’s Project Unnat Yuvati – Girl Child Education, started in 2022 as part of Nrityanjali’s Diamond Jubilee Year Celebrations, is in its fourth year. For the last three years Girl Children from economically less privileged backgrounds are being trained in Spoken English, Public Speaking, Personality Development and Computer Skills at Nrityanjali, so that they can overcome their hesitation and also get empowered financially.
