The Johnson County Center for the Arts will feature a Garden Tour on Saturday, June 28, as a fundraiser to promote and support fine arts programs and opportunities locally. The Garden Tour will highlight the native and ornamental flora that flourishes in many home gardens throughout Johnson County. Tour goers will see garden types ranging from shade to flower and will have a chance to see how area gardeners approach the challenges supplied by the Appalachian mountains
Visits to the featured gardens will help all the Garden Tour goers look beyond ravaged hillsides and flood-worn creek beds left in the wake of Hurricane Helene to the pockets of beauty.
In 2019 the Johnson County Center for the Arts participated in a fun and successful Garden Tour. Each of the gardens featured a Center for the Arts artist demonstrating their craft. This year's Garden Tour coincides with a Plein Air competition and tourists may have the opportunity to see artists at work.
Garden Tour tickets are $25 and will include access from five to eight gardens. All proceeds go to the Johnson County Center for the Arts. Open to all artists working in a 2D medium.
SIGN IN TIME:�Saturday, June 28 from 8 a.m. to 9:30 am�Artists sign in at the Johnson County Center for the Arts’ Gallery on Main at 129 W. Main St. Mountain City, TN. Entry fee is $25. Artists canvases or work surfaces will be stamped. Artists may paint in Garden Tour locations or choose a location in downtown Mountain City, TN.
START/PAINT TIME: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
TURN IN TIME: 4:30 p.m.
Artists must turn in their paintings at the Johnson County Center for the Arts’ Gallery on Main. They may submit up to 3 paintings. Painting must be gallery wrapped or framed.

The Johnson County Center for the Arts retains a 20% commission on all sales.
