Postcards from the Past: An Exhibit of Landscape Paintings by Chris Mallory
Experience an evening of art, featuring acrylic landscape paintings inspired by postcards of the Catskill Mountains.
The Catskills Mountains are known for their historical significance in art (Hudson Valley River School), literature (Rip Van Winkle), music (Woodstock), and mystical folklore as it pertains to the American landscape.
Opening reception: August 15, 6PM-9PM
(Artist talk at 7 PM)

Chris Mallory is an artist who resides in Delhi, Cincinnati, Ohio. He graduated from the Art Academy of Cincinnati in 1978 and NKU in 1981 with a focus in photography. . The inspiration behind his pieces stem from works by the Hudson Valley River School Painters, the paintings depicted in postcards of the Catskill Mountains, NY that promoted travel to the region throughout history, and childhood trips visiting family in the Catskills (who have resided there for over 300 years and are among the first English settlers).
