An autumn mist hangs over the village of Bree, and the sign of the Prancing Pony hangs above the door of a warm, inviting inn. The sound of music, song, and merriment, along with the aroma of delicious food greet your senses. It is a celebration of Hobbit Day - the birthdays of Bilbo and Frodo Baggins, the defeat of the dark lord, Sauron, and the return of the King to his rightful throne!
Join the Misty Mountain Rangers as we enjoy a night of food, cheer, and merry-making together, raising a pint (or three) to the most excellent Bagginses, and to the esteemed Professor Tolkien, who dreamed this world into being!

All attendees must show a ticket at the door (either phone or paper), as well as at least one (1) pot-luck item to gain entry to the event. Tickets are limited due to the size of the venue. They sold out last year prior to the event, so don’t hesitate!
Tickets may be transferred if necessary, and refunds are available up to 48 hours before the start of the event. Refunds will be processed by Eventbrite, less the processing fee. If you need assistance with your transfer or refund, please notify us as soon as possible!
All visitors over 12 years of age are welcome, but attendees under 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
As much as possible, we want this to be an IMMERSIVE event. It's supposed to feel like you're spending the evening in Tolkien's world. We’ll set the stage with Middle Earth décor and music, but your presence will bring it to life! Your costume, feastware, games, attitude, and even the food and drink you bring will contribute to the ambience of the night!
Food and Drink:
This event is a pot-luck! We are depending on everyone to help us assemble a delicious feast of traditional food and drink. Bring enough to share with several friends - but there’s no need to bring enough for twelve dwarves and a wizard! Contributions need an attached label with a list of ingredients for those with food allergies. Power for a few crock pots will be available for those who need it, though cold dishes are most welcome as well. Please bear in mind that the feasting will not commence until three hours after the doors open, so plan your dishes accordingly!
Food Signup: We’re using www.perfectpotluck.com. Link below, or use "Baggins" as the coordinator, and "friend" as the passcode.

Feastware & Drinkware
As is the custom in Bree, we encourage you to bring your own plate, goblet and utensils if you have ones that fit the Middle Earth look. If not, there will be some available for those who don’t have their own.
Musical Instruments:
What would the Prancing Pony be without someone striking up a tune? If you play a traditional instrument, bring it along and you’ll certainly have company in the music circle.
Medieval style table games:
There will be plenty of time for games and socializing between the opening of the inn and the start fo the feast.
Alcohol Policy:
Bring your own and share if you wish! Strong ales, meads, fine wines, cordials, and distilled spirits are all most welcome. Please refrain from becoming too merry with drink. Anyone causing a disturbance will be shown to the door. There is a lovely pavilion outside for those who may need extra time before heading back home. Anyone under 21 found with alcohol or anyone supplying alcohol to a minor will be ejected without refund.
Mead of the Realm:
In collaboration with Colorado Springs' Drekar Meadery, you can order mead to be delivered to the event. Visit drekarmeadery.com/shop, select “Pickup” during checkout, and use “Erin Card” as the pickup person or in the gift note to indicate it is for the feast. -- No alcohol will be sold onsite. Mead must be preordered!
As always, this is a fully costumed event! Wear your finest Middle Earth garb, or dress like you just walked all the way from Weathertop. All the Free People of Middle Earth are welcome - Hobbits, Elves, Dwarves, Istari, and Humans of all genders.
As this is an immersive event, we ask that all costumes be strictly on-theme. This means NO Game of Thrones, Brave, or D&D characters; no horns or fairy wings, etc. We ask that you confine your costume to what might be seen in the Inn at Bree. Generic medieval/SCA is welcome. (No orcs, Nazgûl, or other servants of the enemy, please!) Thanks for understanding. Send us a message ahead of time if you have any questions. If you need help finding a costume, please reach out, and we can recommend some great places locally to look for something to wear!
Weapons/props:
The owners of the venue DO NOT allow any weapons in the event hall. No swords/bows/axes, etc. (Not even replicas.) A small belt knife would be ok, but nothing larger.
The main hall, patio, and upstairs restrooms are all wheelchair accessible. If you’re considering attending, and have any questions about accommodations for a disability, please let us know and we will do our best to make you welcome at the Prancing Pony.
The Misty Mountain Rangers are dedicated to fostering an inclusive community. We use the phrase, “the free people of Middle Earth” as an on-theme way to include and respect everyone of all backgrounds, identities, and abilities. If this doesn’t align with your own outlook, maybe this isn’t the event for you.
Parking is limited at the site, but the event hall staff have told us to direct overflow parking to the middle school across the street.
Due to the small size of the hall, we can’t accommodate tables or booths for any third party vendors or contributors (even if you aren’t selling anything.)
If you have any questions the night of the party, find someone with a "STAFF" badge and they will try to help.
