Guy Davis at Montrose Folk Club

Blues Blast Magazine has described Guy Davis as ” One of the most gifted acoustic musicians on the planet.” He will perform at Montrose Playhouse, immediately after a starring appearance at the 2025 Orkney Folk Festival.

Multi-instrumentalist, Guy Davis, is a two-time, back-to-back Grammy nominee for Best Traditional Blues, musician, actor, author and songwriter; so much more than just a bluesman, he is a troubadour of the folk tradition and a master of his craft.

Guy uses a blend of Roots, Blues, Folk, Rock, Rap, Spoken Word and World Music, to comment on and address the frustrations of social injustice, touching on historical events and common life struggles.

Equally at ease with six or twelve string guitar, five string banjo and harmonica, Guy’s work has seen him perform alongside Bruce Springsteen, Dr. John and Taj Mahal, as well as opening for Chuck Berry and BB King. His gigs feature a mixture of his own original material, alongside classic cover songs, from legends, such as Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf and Bob Dylan
