The joyous Music of Scottish Australian Trio, Good Guy Hank, resonates with its origins in the harmonious Heartlands of Scotland and the musical metropolis of Melbourne, Australia, together with a mutual love of Bluegrass Music. A Concert by the Band brings all of the heartbreak, joy and everything in between with blistering bluegrass country guitar, lightning mandolin, virtuoso fiddle playing and three part harmonies galore.
Influences evident from the Music of the Band range from Lucinda Williams, Hank Williams and Bill Monroe to Gram Parsons, Gillian Welsh, Drive by Truckers and many more. Good Guy Hank are Theo Barnard of Scotland’s hell-raising band of bluegrass desperadoes, Wire and Wool, on guitar, bass and vocals, Pepita Emmerichs, of Australian Indie-Pop sensations, Oh Pep!, on fiddle, mandolin and vocals, together with Donny McElligott, of Scottish Americana outfit, The New Madrids, on guitar and vocals.
The legendary Iain Anderson Show on BBC Radio Scotland made the debut Album of the Band, entitled ” Silver Lining” its Album of the Week. Good Guy Hank are an alternative Americana outfit, who will have you dancing, singing and crying tears of joy, all in the one performance of original charismatic songs.
