TYO's 60th Anniversary Gala: Hobart

TYO is turning 60 and it's time to celebrate – with a gala concert! Join the Tasmanian Youth Orchestra, the TYO Tasmanian Youth Chorale and TYO Alumni under the direction of TYO Chief Conductor Thomas Rimes, TYO Associate Conductor Alexander Rodrigues and TYO Tasmanian Youth Chorale Conductor Madeleine Dyer for a fabulous concert in Hobart's Federation Concert Hall.

The evening's program is a sparkler, with both new works and some much-loved old favourites!

– Maria Grenfell: 'Our Town' premiere of this new work, specially commissioned for TYO's 60th anniversary.
– Paul Jarman: 'The Mountain' and 'Forest of Dreams' from 'The Mountain Cycle', with orchestrations commissioned by TYO.
– Giuseppe Verdi: Grand March from 'Aida'.
– Antonin Dvořák: Symphony No. 9 'New World'.

Join us for this very special celebration – and please feel free to 'dress to the nines' if you wish! It's a special occasion and the orchestra will be 'dressing fancy'. You're welcome to do the same!
