Peel Me a Grape - Songs by Dave Frishberg with Connie Evingson & Jon Weber

Connie explores the Dave Frishberg Songbook from the witty and swinging (“My Attorney Bernie”, “Peel Me a Grape”) to the senstive and sublime “Listen Here”, “You Are There”). Pianist Jon Weber and bassist Steve Pikal join Connie in playing selections from her CD of Frishberg songs “Little Did I Dream” as well as other Frishberg favorites.

Vocalist Connie Evingson is known for exploring a wide variety of musical styles. She has been a featured guest artist with Garrison Keillor’s A Prairie Home Companion, Jazz at Lincoln Center with Wynton Marsalis, the Minnesota Orchestra conducted by Doc Severinsen, Vocalessence, the JazzMN Orchestra and other esteemed organizations. She is a longtime member of the popular vocal jazz group Moore By Four, and is a two-time recipient of both the McKnight Fellowship for Performing Musicians and the Minnesota State Arts Board Artist Initiative Grant.
